Michael H. Beard played a pivotal role in securing funds and public interest in the historic Loyless Interurban Drugstore as a City Councilman and, later, citizen advocate. These are his pictures, graciously given to Robert Griffith in April 2008.
Before the Renovation
The windows and entry, bricked over when the Burleson Dispatcher occupied the building, are cleared out.
The roof and interior walls, including a drop ceiling and partitions added by the Deerings, are also removed.
A large hole at the rear of the building, cut in order to install large printing equipment in 1935, is repaired.
